GRADES

Grades Matter

GPA

One of the best ways to love all over your student-athlete child is to teach about the importance of the GPA at the beginning of their 8th grade year and before they start high school.

Use their entire 8th grade year to practice what it means to have a GPA when it will not count towards high school.

The fact of the matter is that on day one of high school every homework assignment, quiz, test, and sometimes attendance with participation points count towards their GPA. It adds up along the way to a final GPA when they graduate in four years from high school.

There’s no turning back the clock! More importantly, it is harder to try to make-up a GPA by getting better grades the rest of their high school years than being sure to earn and keep the highest grades possible from day one of freshman 9th grade year.
