ABOUT US

NFHS MOMs began with one goal in mind: to gain a better understanding of what it means to be the mother of high school students. Since 2019, NFHS MOMs serves as a bridge between the National Federation of High School Associations and the mothers of those students involved. Through research and relationship development, NFHS MOMs strives to get to know what a mom truly needs as a support system for their high school students. We are committed to connecting a network of mothers advocating alongside mothers.

The National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) is a nationwide leader in supporting the continuation and management of high school athletics and performing arts programs  all over the country. NFHS knows athletic and arts programming are a vital part of students’ development and overall school experience. Ones that teach students valuable life lessons, form lasting friendships and promote healthy behavior forming habits.

However, high school programing opportunities not only affect participating students, but the systems of support holding students up, a.k.a moms. Just as moms support their children, how can high school programming better support a mother’s involvement?

In partnership with Butler University, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, NFHS is continuing research and study efforts towards the moms perspectives on their childrens’ participation in athletic and performing arts. Both Butler University and NFHS are dedicated to pursuing education and career development for students.

Together, these institutions are actively creating a platform of resources and relationships for mothers nationwide.
